Cardinal O'Malley Visits the Shrine

On the Solemnity of Pentecost, our community at the Shrine of Our Lady Queen of the Universe had the honor to receive his Excellency Cardinal Seán Patrick O'Malley, Metropolitan Archbishop of Boston, who on the occasion conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation to 150 young people from the Brazilian Community.

The solemn celebration took place in a climate of faith, joy and hope. In his homily, Card. O'Malley spoke to the faithful and especially for those receiving the sacrament of Confirmation about how the Holy Spirit changes the life of the person who receives Him, guiding the person to a new life of charity. 

The Cardinal also and invited the candidates to consider the vocation to the consecrated life and to the priesthood. In the end, the Cardinal thanked the Orionine Congregation for its continuous contribution to the archdiocese.
