On the Second Day of November, just after the Solemnity of All Saints, the Catholic Church prays especially for the souls of the faithful departed. These are the souls of our brothers and sisters, our beloved relatives and friends and all those who have left this world before us. Since they can no longer pray for their own intentions or do good works, it is our christian duty to pray and do good works on their behalf. Thus, we celebrate the communion of saints, which unites the souls in Heaven, on Earth and in Purgatory.
On the Solemnity of Pentecost, our community at the Shrine of Our Lady Queen of the Universe had the honor to receive his Excellency Cardinal Seán Patrick O'Malley, Metropolitan Archbishop of Boston, who on the occasion conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation to 150 young people from the Brazilian Community.
